MinimizeLa sua Biografia

I am Béla Vízi (PhD) chemical engineer, retired associate professor of Veszprém University. I was born in Jászapáti (Hungary) in l936. I graduated from the Veszprém University of Chemical Engineering in l96l. Since then I had been teaching at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the same Unuversity, which has the Pannon University today.

From the end of sixties I make medals and small sculptures. From l972 I attended the summer courses on sculpture at Zebegény which were annually organized by the professors of the  Hungarian School of Fine Arts, The masters our group were Robert Csíkszentmihályi, Mária Ciránszky, Mihály Pál. Later Róza Pató sculptor was the corrector of my works. During the years I have  made more than hundred medals (mainly portrait medals) and also more than two hundred small sculptures. In the last twenty years I have made sculptures applying symbols and symbol systems of chemistry. In the very last years I care for the possibility of the mythological like description and representation of chemistry.

These chemical sculptures were exhibited on thirty three single shows and published in nine, mostly bilingual books.
